The corporate policy of AWK Verschlüsse GmbH & Co. KG is based on four cornerstones: quality, reliability, flexibility and service. All of this in harmony with the environment and sustainability.
History
In 1989, AVG Aluminiumverschluss GmbH & Co. KG was founded as the production company and AWK Verpackung GmbH as the sales company.
Production started in November 1990 with 5 production lines.
In 1997, certification according to DIN ISO 9001 followed.
In 2000, the sales company was incorporated into the production company and renamed to its current name – AWK Verschlüsse GmbH & Co. KG
With the acquisition of PP production in 2003, the portfolio was expanded by seven production lines.
In 2014, the purchase of production machinery for manufacturing PVC-free closures set an example of the environmental awareness of AWK Verschlüsse GmbH & Co. KG.
Certification according to DIN ISO 22000 followed in 2022.
In 2025, a new PVC-free line and a new aluminium scrap press were acquired. These investments expand capacity on the one hand and contribute to achieving the sustainability goals on the other. The pressed aluminium bales are melted down by a partner and returned to the cycle.
